Cannabis has certainly made a positive headway in growing acceptance for both medical and adult use means. As the consumption of cannabis makes it’s way back culturally into society, we have a lot of work ahead of us regarding the narrative we want to have concerning what that responsible use will look like.
Plant medicine is a passion of mine, it’s what makes this conversation so fun! This beautiful planet of ours has provided us with botanical medicine at our fingertips on the daily. From garlic to turmeric, chamomile and echinacea, the list of pharmacological beneficial plants as medicine is robust and profound.
After nearly a century in prohibition, and nearly 83 years of being in the US Pharmacopoeia of Medicine, exile- Cannabis has been given rightful way back into the hands of scientists to explore the uses and the medicinal benefits it has. With that growing acceptance and continued research, we will be able to make change is Federal Legislation that will allow and continue to influence the research it needs.
Tonight’s meeting, Wednesday’s ( Feb. 26th 5:30pm), will consist of a beginning dialog on the use of cannabis as medicine. Starting with the very system that is regulated by using this plant medicine, to understanding forms of consumption and touch on learning the very plant properties and cultivars with a brief understanding on legal use in Michigan.
If you are not able to make tonights meeting, don’t worry – we plan to offer this monthly, with varying topics every meeting. Next meeting is: March 25, 2020 at 5:30 pm where we will discuss the topic “Brain Health and Cannabis.”
