COVID-19 The Awakening of the Compromised Lifestyle | Opinion
2020 has certainly been a year to remember. We are seeing science unravel in real time. One that paints a picture on just how unprepared we were/are for a Pandemic.
We’ve seen it everyday since January – A ticker on just how many people have lost the battle with COVID19. It’s a painstaking reminder on just how short life is, right ?
What if I told you we are paying attention to the wrong things ?
Information is being delivered immorally, typically inconsistent with the narrative that has scoped centuries of science, backed by a touted mis-representation, for a survival rate of 99.9%.
We flipped an entire economy for greed. A money grab, a deliberate attempt to skew the advancements we’ve made since that last Pandemic. –
One that enforces healthcare measures inconsistent with efficacy. A protocol that is unethical in nature.
We mandated isolation. “to reduce the curve” they said. Just a friendly reminder: Quarantine is when you restrict the movement of sick people … Tyranny is when you restrict the movement of the healthy.
Every time I see “Mandatory Masks”, I trust that a vaccine will replace that statement- A fast tracked vaccine perpetuates the instant gratification our society loves. We want a quick fix because no one wants to do the work. In fact, we’ve allowed it to run our lives- From the fast foods chains that were promoted to stay open, with the endless amount of packages we could have delivered right to our front door, to the technology streaming literally at our fingertips.
Implementing an emergency model scoped around fear and unknown, provides radical policy. When Science offers a small but relevant finding in genome sequence paired with a human adaptability of less than half- A finding that can only promise that this virus will in fact mutate. Making our efforts moot.
We’ve lost the ability to reason, allowing dogma to be accepted as truth.
When faced with dividing opinions we shamed our neighbors for their position rather than acknowledging their perception- But have you considered this? Who has the most to gain from their perspective? Is that resource reputable ? Do they have contradicting or conflicting stances?
Medicine should be a choice. No one therapy, modality, medicine or practice should be enforced on ANYONE ! Period. We have prioritized a radical health care plan for a 99% percent survival rate.
Do we honestly believe Heart Disease, Cancer or even Malaria has no comparison to the lives they take each day ? Perhaps if our headlines streamed the latest count on TB we might pay more attention, sure.
Maybe if the news represented the individuals taking their lives because they’ve lost their job and can’t make ends meet. Or divulged the reality of the mental health crisis we have in the making. The devastating results of our current nursing home centers. Let’s maybe take a look at the tipping point of our front line workers…
We prioritized an acute stage illness to overlook the advancements we’ve classified as “non-essential,” – Healthcare methodologies that were developed through extended examples of research, engaging medicine’s preventative health routines. Measures, many would say are life saving.
We’ve allowed the government to be the providers of life services. Therefore, we are at the mercy of they’re interpretation of those services
We have mandated children wearing masks to cover their face, whilst providing no efficacy of the use for a child. And at the same time, we are unveiling one of the largest child human trafficking, in history.
When you have 40% of U.S Adults reporting mental health, substance abuse and suicidal ideation since COVID- “Houston we have a problem”!!! As the turn of events transpire, we can longer look a blind eye to the crippling systems of our economy.
- Substance abuse disorder COVID
- Risk associated with Front line workers
- Childhood Prescription for Mental Health in America
- Disparities in virtual education for areas of poverty
- Michigan’s Unemployment Statistic
So yes, if you have a comorbidity take precautions – wear a mask, distance yourself from others, wash you hands, sanitize your home. And if you believe these statistics have no bearing on our current events, I urge you to consider pulling back the veil, because we are in the midst of one of the largest healthcare crisis we’ve ever seen.
It might look like things are getting worse, but I believe we are truly just giving transparency to our current events- I stand to be a voice in the narrative that supports the importance of preventative health care regimens. One that recognizes the unique individualism of protocols in medicine – The daily importance of your lifestyle being that change. We’ve got to stop waiting for things to break and bring awareness to our habits and routines that often are compromised by the culture we are quickly adapting too.
Now is a time to be practicing vigilance. When political views result in suffering of another human being, they are no longer political views- they are moral choices. With the incidents above, resulting directly from the protocol we have adopted, it’s time to consider who we are truly compromising. When does the narrative shift to the casualties of the outcomes of 7 months of radical policies?
Life is to be experienced. The constant compromise of the modern lifestyle is written in, History, consistently showing that we are at the midst of a Pandemic at any given time. If you’re reading this, I hope you know me well enough to recognize that my opinion comes genuinely out of passion to engage conversation. One that after many years of research and education has led me to believe that the importance of individualized healthcare IS the future in medicine, and the cookie cutter protocols we’ve developed are a direct result of our disease management system we’ve evolved into.
